Finally, after a very time our trip to Chitwan was planned with the volunteers which I donot mind. We packed our bags and took the tourist bus to Chitwan together with others. We reached Chitwan at 12:30 and everybody was amazed to see the mustard fields everywhere full with its yellow flower on top. What a view! We went to Unique Wild Resort for our stay in Chitwan and took a little walk towards the Tharu Village and then to the sunset point. After that we went back to the resort for dinner and then to the Tharu Cultural Show which was good to see but there were few drunken people who spoiled the fun of watching the cultural show.
Next day, was planned as a Jeep Safari Day, so we all woke up quiet early around 6:30 and we all were ready for jungle jeep safari. We saw Barking deer, spotted deer, wild boar, rhino, wild chicken and different birds and man eater crocodile but no Tigers and Bears. Eating lunch in the middle of the jungle was quiet fun and good experience also which everybody enjoyed a lot. In the evening, we all were tired so I went to sleep earlier than the others because next day also we have to wake up early.
We all finished our breakfast at 8:00 and we were ready to start our day starting with Canoe. We saw man eater crocodile, fish eater crocodile and different kinds of birds from very near compare to jeep safari. Then, we reached to our next destination – Elephant Breeding Centre. May be you know that in Chitwan Elephant Breeding Centre, one pregnant elephant gave birth to twins babies which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records because normally elephant deliver only one baby at a time but this elephant gave birth to the twins and set the record. This was the second case of twin elephant baby delivery. The first twin baby was delivered in Thailand but both the babies died and now these two babies are one months old and lets see if they can survive or not! It was really nice to see them. When we reached to the Elephant Breeding centre, they both were sleeping near their mother but after sometime they woke up and stretch their bodies. Then, they started drinking their mother milk. It was the best moment of the day to see those babies enjoying the milk and the togetherness with their mother. At that time, I realized that, mother and child love cannot be explained in words. After breeding centre we all went back to the resort for a short rest and then to the elephant safari which was quiet tiring at the end and after dinner we all were ready to celebrate Sinterklaas with our poems and gifts which we bought for each others and I also got one poem which goes like this:
Dear Suman,
At times, she helps out Ajay with the volunteers,
Facing a Dutch crowd, she does without any fears.
Television is forbidden, exams are on the way,
So with a lot of studying, home is the place to stay.
Once that is done, she can be back on the street,
Because when Suman hears Bollywood music,
She turns into happy feet.
Performing side jobs is something for her,
She cleans the CB-office and tells Harry’s crew how to stir.
Hanging out with the Dutch bunch, she will never be bored,
And no Dutch smart guy can have the Last word.
So dear Suman, Sint is telling you this:
Stay who you are, because you’re too good to miss!!
Greetz,
Anoek
And next day, Ajay and me woke up earlier than the others because Ajay wanted to take pictures of the daily life of the village people of Sauraha, so we just went for few hours to take pictures and then came back for breakfast and then we all came back to Kathmandu to start our normal daily life.
I hope you all enjoyed my story and until next story enjoy your life and smile.
