Dear Friends,
I know that it took a very long time for me to post my story but here I am with my story. Hey Reinier, are you happy now?
So after my birthday, it was a time for the biggest festival of Nepal for Hindu people called – Dashain and Tihar. Dashain is mainly celebrated after the rain harvesting. Dashain is also known as family gathering, goat sacrifices and getting blessing from the elders. Ajay and I went to his parent’s home to celebrate festival. It was nice to get the tika from Ajay’s parents and giving tika to the youngest ones also. Then Tihar festival was also waiting for us. It was full of lights everywhere even we don’t have power that day but with the butter lamps we put lights in our home which was good.
Finally, all the festivals was over for me and it was a time for me to start doing my Masters Degree but I was little bit confused which subject to choose for my study. Ajay helped me to choose the subject which has a great scope in Nepal and finally I enrolled myself to study Anthropology for two years. But do not think that the story is over there is little bit more to come.
Last week, we celebrated Sinterklaas with the children home kids at Sankhu. We all went there and our Sinter Klaas. Old kids from Children home enjoyed a lot and there were few kids who were very scared and crying like they saw a ghost. For a few minutes it was kind of a shock for us how to control them but later the situation was under control and then in the evening we came back to Thamel.
We also celebrated Ajay’s birthday last week and it was nice to see him so happy on his birthday. We celebrated his birthday with his family, friends and colleagues also. And yesterday, I finally went to the hair dresser to cut my hair and color my hair also because I was little bit bored with my black hair so I colored my hair Red. I like it and may be after few days, I will put my picture on my blog with my colored hair cut.
On 12th December, I, Ajay together with volunteers and Anoek are going to Chitwan to celebrate Sinterklaas.
Until my next story, enjoy your life and see you soon!
Greetz,
Suman
