Trip to Amsterdam and Zaandam

Hey friends,

Right now we are in the South part of Holland and the place we are staying is called Berghem. But before Berghem, I have to tell you what we did in Amsterdam. So here we go.....

Amsterdam – huh! Where to start???? Oh, so on a fine morning we went to Noord Station of Alkmaar to take our train to the Amstel Station of Amsterdam and because we were little bit early in the train station so we just took one train before we were suppose to take for Amsterdam. So, as a result we were in Amsterdam station before the time we were supposed to be there. Wow! What a big station. It was really big compare to the other train stations we have been in Holland. So, Ajay and me planned to see the place where we were suppose to meet Saskja. So we found our meeting place called Burger King and then we were looking around the station and also out of the station also. We saw tram for the first time in Holland, except in the open air museum in Arnhem. So, then we saw Mijke coming instead of Saskja and then Mijke told me that Saskja, Arno, Susanne and Rene (yes rene) is waiting for us with the boat of Saskja. So, we walked out of the station with Mijke. After few minutes walks we met Rene, Mijke, Arno, Susanne and Sasja and then we went for the boating to the canals of Amsterdam. It was nice to see the places of Amsterdam through boating and eating at the same time on the boat. Luxury!! Then, suddenly there was a plan for barbeque in the evening at the Vondelpark. We stopped and parked our boat at one of the tunnel and then walked through the Red Light Street of Amsterdam. Wow! We were really surprised to see the red light street of Amsterdam, it was big and nice to walk there with so many tourists around and then we reached to the famous Dam of Amsterdam. This was the first time in our trip to Holland that we saw so many tourists around us and people were coming and going and it was fun to be there in Amsterdam. Then again, we went to our boat for more boating and then in the evening Rene, Mijke and us went to buy the meat and use and throw barbeque set at Albert Heijn. It was a nice park and there were few obstacles to make barbeque machine ready but then Ajay made it possible and then barbeque was success. In the evening all of us went to the red light street again especially to go to the Banana Bar (yeah, don’t laugh) but it was toooooooo much expensive 45 euros for just one hour and only for only one person, so everybody thought of going to one pub and have drinks. In the meantime, me and Mijke also went to Erotic Museum, hahaha. Then after that Rene, Mijke, Greet and us went to Mijke’s house because it was the place for us to sleep and Mijke gave us the key and then went to Greet house and her house was under our control. It was a nice evening and then all of us went for sleep because everybody was so tired. Next Morning after shower and breakfast we went to our next destination by tram first and then to the train were to the Central Station of Amsterdam. Rene gave us the instruction about the route and followed it and then we were at the Central Station of Amsterdam. We came out of the station and met Rene at Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam because from roof you can have the best view of the whole city and it was amazing to see the view of Amsterdam from the top. Amazing view!!! Then after a cup of coffee we went to one place from where we get the tools. Then after that, Ajay and me went to Dam again and sat there for a while and went to McDonalds for lunch and then we got a phone call from Vineeke for a dinner and then we took a ferry to her place and she showed us few places of the North part of Amsterdam and there we met her boyfriend and Martine. Then, at 20:30 we took our train back to Noord Alkmaar and then we were looking forward to see Su-Anne next day because we were going to start our South part trip from tomorrow for 3 weeks. Suddenly, Ajay phone rang and it was Ina and she told us that it was not possible for us to go to Su-Anne tomorrow because she had got some work, so that means we had free day tomorrow.

Next day, was nice day with lots of sunshine. Ina came in the morning to our place and then I came to know from Ajay and Ina, that we were going to cook Dal-Bhat in the evening at Ina’s place and Reinier was coming to eat with us. What a nice surprise early in the morning. So, we went with Ina to her place and then for small shopping. In the evening, we cooked Dal-Bhat with my favourite Chicken and then we saw Reinier walking fast (as always) towards Ina’s house. Ohh! When I looked at him it really felt like I just saw him yesterday. Cool ! Then we had Dal-Bhat using our hands (because spoons were not allowed to use) and everybody like the food which we cooked. After dinner, one more surprise was waiting for me and that was we were going to visit ZaanseSchans Museum with Reinier next day. After dinner, Reinier drove us back home from Ina’s place.

Another good day with lots of sunshine, we walked to Ina house and then went with her to Zaandam to meet Reinier. He was waiting for us and then we drove for few minutes and then took ferry to reach our destination called – ZaanseSchans Museum. The whole museum area was filled with the Cocoa smell, which was quiet annoying also. We were the first ones to enter the museum and then after few minutes the place was filled with the tourists. It was a nice place and we saw the process how they make cheese and wooden shoes. Anoek are you missing your cheese on your breads. Then Reinier, drove us back to the centre of Zaandam, where we can spend some time and walk around before meeting Ina again to go back to Alkmaar. Reinier went back to his shop at Amsterdam after leaving us near the centre. And then we were walking around and then Ajay bought a nice Puma shoes at the Inter Sports shop. We also met father of Reinier and had small talk with him in his shoes shop. It was almost 14:00 and it was also the time for us to go to Ina’s office. She drove us back to the Alkmaar and from there we walked for 30 hrs and reached home.

Again a long story from me, hai, so I think I should stop writing here, otherwise it would be boring to read my story. So, dear friends, this is it for now and thanks for reading my story and tolerating it also. Thanks for commenting also. :-)
