Story # 2 of our Holland Trip

One week passed and it feels like we are here in Holland from very long time. Funny ha! Walking on the beaches (Strandpaviloen – Zilverzand, Zandvoort, Bergen Aan Zee), meeting friends and eating lots of ice-cream and Hot chocolate.

Except Alkmaar and eating ice-cream, Ajay and I travelled in the train of Holland to Haarlem, which was quite a good experience for us. We bought a ticket of Haarlem with the help of Ina and then she explained how to use the ticket because we bought the ticket one day before travelling. So, Ajay and me were ready to go to Haarlem to meet Marc and Mascha. Next day, for the first time in Holland walked alone to the Noord-Station of Alkmaar and it was good walking our self without any help. We took our seat and the train was heading to Haarlem. Mascha was waiting for us in the station and Marc was waiting outside the station in his car. It was really nice to see them after such a long time.

We went to their apartment, had tea and then after that our tour to Haarlem was started. It was very nice to see the old houses with great architecture and St. Bavo Church and then after that we had great French Fries with different sauces. Went back to the apartment of Marc and Mascha took some rest and again we put our shoes on for the beach walk at Zandvoort. An amazing beach with nice views and then after that we came back home and Marc cooked dinner for us and it was too good. After dinner, we again went out for just a walk and had some drinks in the city market of Haarlem. Great day!

Next day, Dorien Link, came to pick us up from Marc and Mascha home with her cutest 10 months baby, Stan. He is really cute and he was looking at our strange faces but he became friendly with us very soon. We went to the Alkmaar in her car from Haarlem and then we headed to the Cheese Market and because it was Friday and on Friday, you can see the cheese market full our tourists like us. In Cheese Market, the guys from the market showed the show how the old people use to weigh the weight of the cheese and then bring the cheese to the cheese market. After that, we went to the one restaurant for a cup of coffee and we saw one wedding on our way to the restaurant and after few minutes Rene also joined us for the coffee. After few sightseeing with Rene, Dorien and Stan, Ajay and me came back home to had a nice sleep and talk with Henk, Nienke and Freek.

We also went to Texel for camping in a weekend with Kim and Henk. We packed our things for camping and went to the Texel with a car and then we waited for our turn to get into the boat with our car. We reached to Texel and it was nice weather and the sun was shining but when we started putting our tent it started raining but still we (Ajay and Henk) put the tent for the camping. It was nice camping area near the sea and we really had a great time in Texel and we came back from Texel on Sunday evening and on our way home we went to Mc Donald for our dinner.

It was a nice week with visiting friends and seeing the beach for the first time and today, Rene came with his car to pick us up from Henk’s place. We went to the Afsluitdijk, Harlingen and then finally to the Enkhuizen, Zuiderzee Museum. We came back home and Ajay cooked Pasta and everybody like it and now we are watching a Euro Cup and Holland is playing with Romania and everybody is so excited and me too and so now I stop writing my story because I really wanted to see the match and hey guys wish us luck for the Alkmaar four days walk which is going to start from tomorrow. See you in my next story. Till then, smile.

Hey dear!
It's nic to read your first impressions of holland. Your now here for a few weeks, do you still like it? I think it's funny that for me in nepal and for you in holland the traffic was one of the biggest "shocks", haha.
Today i practised with maris for the 4daagse, looking forward to that!! See you soon :)

xx and hug lauri
